Rich King Memorial Greenway

The Rich King Memorial Greenway trail is about 3 miles in length and has an asphalt surface. Trail activities include walking, biking and inline skating, and wheelchair access is also available. Trail end points are Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Radio Road.

The Rich King Memorial Greenway offers users a paved route that runs north and south along the east side of Naples. The 3-mile path goes through a power line corridor, has residential neighborhoods on both sides of it and a view of the canals on its southern end.

When the trail project first came to light, the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy took part in negotiating easements from landowners who were adjacent to the proposed trail area. In 2011, the trail—named after a radio host and highly regarded community member—opened to the public.

Gordon River Greenway

The Gordon River Greenway measures 1.7 miles and has a surface made of asphalt and boardwalk. Trail activities include biking, walking, inline skating and fishing, and the trail is also wheelchair accessible. End points for this trail are Golden Gate Parkway and Naples Municipal Airport.

The Gordon River Greenway is a fun and convenient path offering an experience of the Florida wilds in a serene environment—the trail runs through a 126-acre natural area in the heart of Naples. The experience is described as refreshing. You encounter a well-maintained, lush area with covered benches for visitors to kick back and take in their surroundings. Access points have parking, bike racks and restrooms, and they and the trail are well lit.

In 2014, the first phase of the trail opened. The 12-foot-wide pavement guides you through palm trees, scrubland and pine flat-woods with elevated boardwalk sections spread out over wetlands. From the boardwalks, you can watch the wildlife in its natural habitat.
