Analyzing the Bianchi Via Nirone 7 models out now
The Via Nirone 7 has become a classic offering from Bianchi, thanks to its great looks and fun, engaging ride at a price point that is quite affordable. Many bike enthusiasts rave about the model as the ideal entry point into the iconic Bianchi brand, and a perfect bike to take out on the road at all times of the year.
The Via Nirone 7 was initially designed as a long-distance endurance bike that soaks up vibration, but it also provides a significant amount of responsiveness for bikers looking for a bit more performance for sporting purposes. This has made it a favorite all-around road bike for people of all biking skill and usage levels.
The newest model out this year features a hydroformed 6061 alloy. Prior versions of the Via Nirone 7 used an alloy that was a bit more economical, but the 2018 version has implemented a higher grade of tubing. This has allowed for a greater strength-to-weight ratio and smoother shape forming, both of which help make the bike more responsive even in rougher patches, making for a smoother ride.
Riders can also expect greater long-distance comfort out of this model, as the carbon fork has Kevlar inserts woven into its fork legs. As a material, Kevlar is remarkably strong, but still manages to be more elastic than carbon fibers. Therefore, by implementing these Kevlar inserts, the Bianchi team has created a bike that can better absorb road vibrations without compromising or altering the fork’s stiffness, which allows for more stable and responsible steering. On long rides, this means less fatigue and easier handling.
In addition, the bike’s geometry has been designed to lead to more stable handling, better responsiveness and greater comfort over long distances by ensuring the rider remains in a comfortable position that still allows him or her to generate efficient power through the pedals.
The bike comes in unisex and women’s specific varieties. The Dama Bianca women’s bikes, including the women’s models of the Via Nirone 7, all feature female-specific components, such as women’s handlebars and saddles meant for smaller riders.
However, at our bike shop, we are capable of tuning bikes to fit any rider, male or female, so you do have the option of fitting some female-specific components to a unisex model.
